Your Recovery Phrase is extremely important. It is the only way to recover or transfer your wallet to another device. Safe keeping of this, is solely you responsibility. Blade Labs cannot recover this if it is lost or forgotten. Please backup your Recovery Phrase.

The Recovery Phrase is presented to you during a standard setup process, but you can also access it in your wallet after setup is complete.

Launch Blade Wallet:

Click “Account”

Your Blade Wallet might have several accounts in it. Make sure to backup the Recovery Phrase from all the accounts. Each account has its own unique Recovery Phrase.

Click on the account that will be backed up.

Now click on the key icon.

Your Recovery Phase will now appear:

  • Write down your Recovery Phrase and keep it in a safe place. Make sure to write down each word separately and in order. The phrase will be 12 or 24 words. The phrase for this sample is “east company material animal chief light cave art zoo custom proud fever”.

  • You can optionally use the “copy” icon and copy it to the clipboard then save it.

  • You have the option to also backup your private key. Click “Show me my private key”

  • When you are done, click “Back to the Wallet”

If you choose to backup your Private Key, you will see this page. The private key is a cryptographic key created from the Recovery Phrase. The private key can be used to recover account like the Recovery Phrase.

  • Write down your private key and keep it in a safe place. Be careful to accurately copy the values. The private key is one string of letters and numbers without spaces. The sample private key is "99328f9100300506032b6570042204206be90f15cba8dacb115efaf6040f038993c5364e889f9cbac4782dba302e020"

  • You have the option to “copy” icon and copy it to clipboard then save it.

  • When you have finished, click “Back to the Wallet”

(If you already have the Recovery Phrase for this account, you do not need the Private Key. The Private Key may be required for advanced users)

When you have completed this backup , you should follow the same process with each account in your wallet

Click on the next account.

Now click on the "key" icon.

Your Recovery Phase will now appear:

Follow the same Recovery Phrase and private key backup process as above for this account and any other accounts in your wallet.
